Shakespeare400 is a consortium of leading cultural, creative and educational 
organisations, coordinated by King’s College London, which will mark the 400th 
anniversary of Shakespeare’s death in 2016. Through a connected series 
of public performances, programmes, exhibitions and creative activities in the capital and beyond, partners will celebrate the legacy of Shakespeare during the quatercentenary year.

Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, steeped in culture 

and history.It is one of the most important tourist destinations in the UK.

#annehathaway

Annehathaway was the wife of William Shakespeare, the English poet, playwright and actor. They were married in 1582, when he was 18 and she was 26 years old. She outlived her husband by eight years. Very little is known about her beyond a few references in legal documents, but her personality and relationship to Shakespeare have been the subject of much speculation by historians and creative writers.

Edmon Malone was an Irish Shakespearean scholar and editor of the works of William Shakespeare.
Assured of an income after the death of his father in 1774, Malone was able to give up his law practice for at first political and then more congenial literary pursuits.

The City of London was filthy during Shakespeare's era.There was no sewage system. The waste was just dumped into the River Thames.The disease was transmitted by the fleas that lived on rodents and animals, especially rat.The Bubonic plague (Black Death) was always caught or spread from an infected 
animal or person.

A busy year for Shakespeare as he is thought to have composed Richard II performed that very same year, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, thought to be composed for a wedding and the greatest love story of all time, Romeo and Juliet.

A story of Queen Elizabeth and Shakespeare must perhaps be noticed here, the anecdote a mere late eighteenth-century invention relating to Queen Elizabeth at a theatre one evening while Shakespeare was playing a king, and bowing to him as she crossed the stage, but he went on with his part without returning the salutation.
